Over the past ten years Local Authorities and commercial organisations have faced genuine challenges in how they store, manage, retain and utilise the many forms of electronic data they accumulate. One of the strategies public sector organisations are adopting is corporate Electronic Document and Record Management Systems (EDRMS) for recording and archiving electronic documents such as plans and forms, in addition to electronic mail and scanned letters– this is the route Dorset County Council has adopted.

Egnatia Odos SA: A collision of history with the electronic 21st century
The origins of a two thousand year-old Roman road running the length of Greece is one of the world’s oldest and it is now amongst one of the most technically sophisticated and advanced in terms of its construction and maintenance systems.
Egnatia Odos SA with technology software from Exor, the leading provider of infrastructure asset management solutions, will oversee and manage the assets on its 680 km of highways. The project, due for completion in 2008, is one of Europe’s largest ongoing construction projects and will contain 1650 individual bridges, 74 tunnels, and meander through some of Greece’s toughest terrain.
